Monicka’s approach to massage therapy is one of present and compassionate care. She balances a deep understanding of anatomy and kinesiology with intuitive and nurturing touch. A self-proclaimed “anatomy and movement nerd”, Monicka received her BA in Dance and Movement studies from William Smith College in 2003, and continued on to study massage therapy and bodywork at East West College in 2010. She is a lover of learning, and adapts her skills to suit the needs of the individual.
She continues to teach movement and yoga at The Bhaktishop Yoga Center in SE Portland, and is the co-director of The Bhaktishop’s Yoga School. Currently, Monicka is participating in a mentorship with Intuitive Healer Shayne Case, to further her capacity for self-healing and holding healing space for others. She practices myofascial release, deep tissue, relaxation, and Thai massage.
When Monicka is not engaged in bodywork or movement, she is likely playing with her very active son, immersing in the outdoors with her family, gardening and harvesting (barefoot of course), reading, or creating art.
